Notes:
This correlation seems to be particularly strong for parents with young children (Belsky, 1990; Buehler, Hogan, Robinson, & Levy, 1985). Marini (1980) found that the number of children in the family has a direct negative effect on parental satisfaction and also points out that the age of the youngest child has a negative effect on parental satisfaction with a decline as preschoolers grow older and move through the school age years.
