Maternal Role Satisfaction
Is the highest with one child.
Is the lowest with 3-4 children.
Then increasing again with larger families.
Notes:
More specifically, Nye Carlson, & Garrett (1970) found that family affect decreases and family stress increases with an increase in number of children, with a slight improvement with 5 or more children. They also found that maternal role satisfaction was highest with one child, lowest with 3-4 children, then increasing again with larger families.
